Hi Mick your mystery chook is not a Langshan. Mine have a oriental shaped eye and feathers on their shanks. This bird looks like my australorp, with its round shaped eyeys and body type. So i am guessing its a Australorp. Cheers Linda

Got me stumped then as it doesn't look anything like the other young Australorps I have, too much red in the face and the eye colour is all wrong. Slower growing as well the Australorps and Light sussex are 3 weeks younger but are as big if not bigger. Is a plucky little bird, while the others all have there heads down eating it chases off the doves and wagtails head up neck feathers up and tail up, pretty tame as well. Seems a shame I will have to top him if no one wants him as I can't keep the roosters

I think it could be a bantam australorp going on the size. it was amazing it hatched cause normally the hens are seperated from the roosters to keep the hens feathers intack for showing.

Well mystery bird will have to stay a mystery, I had a guy come for him down in Binningup hoping he was a bantum Australorp but he wasn't so we had him for an extra day, then a lady we met at the surf life saving club said she would take him, we were to drop him off over the fence the next day. Well my 4 year old had the rooster and dropped him over the fence ......then the tears started my boy loved that little roo I felt pretty bad but it had to go.......so now because i am a real softie when it comes to my kids I am looking for a little hen.....silkie or similar if anyone has a bird for him let me know.......it just goes on!!
