Hi
My Hen will hatch her eggs a week next weekend and I was wondering if I could take some of the chicks in to the pre-primary school for a couple of hours at the start of school so the children can see the chicks ? If I can do this I'd defer to your advice as to what age the chicks should be for this to occur ? My main concern is that my hen accepts her chicks back after the trip. Or would I be best to just take a couple of pictures with my child holding the chicks (which is no where near as exciting) ?
Thanks Cocopuffcake

why don't you take teh mother hen with the chicks in a carry cage, and to stop her from pecking the children, leave the hen in hte cage whiel the kiddies are looking at the babies.

oh and i would wait for the first 48hrs or so to pass as this is when teh chicks and hen bond to each other, and you don't want to interfere with that process
