My mum has hand raised an Aylesbury drake who is now GIGANTIC and now we have found he is also carnivorous! So far this week, Mum has found a galah skeleton, a hawk skull and a partially eaten crow in (ahem) Squeaky's pen. Has anyone ever heard of a murderous duck before? Especially one that eats its prey? My muscovies will attack anything that enters their pen but have never killed anything let alone digested it. Mum reakons he is a deliquent because he's been spoilt as a baby but should they be installing razor wire and a strait-jacket as a precaution? Maybe they are hoping he'll eat the chook killing dog from next door?

"Squeaky" is comparable in size to a goose! We did think he was a mutant goose because he outgrew the other ducks in only a few weeks but a duck breeder friend of ours identified him as an Aylesbury. Even he's shocked to see how massive he's become. He's in a pen with some Muscovies because they're the only ones brave enough to front up to him when he's in a mood. My son's Pekin rooster is there to breed up some chickens for my Dad and he nearly came unstuck when he flew a bit too far into Squeaky's pen. Thank God Dad was there to rescue him because Goldy only weighs a couple of kgs at best and "Godzilla" Squeaky is, at last weigh in, 12kgs so it wasn't a particularly fair fight. Goldy's fine now but he was a mess for a few weeks. Oh and by the way, he's quite partial to um, try to put this delicately, men's bits. So my sons and my Dad are very quick on their feet when they go into his lair. Ladies no problem. He loves his mummy.

You should advertise for a gigantic female duck and breed a new super strain of duck! I take one and sounds like every one else will to. this is a serious reply

My Mum may have to think about hiring him out! My Dad's waiting for the chook killing dog from next door to visit again (she's killed 2 of Dad's chooks to date, one was an exceptional blue Pekin rooster which my kids loved). I think if we tried to breed from him he would probably eat his intended mate so best not to risk that. Am considering training him to attack foxes, might do the alpacas out of a job. Not bad for an egg found on the side of the road?!

Haven't been to Mum's this week but Dad was saying on the phone the other night, he has killed again! One less pink and grey galah to pilfer the wheat supply. My Mum is the only one that can get near him when he's in one of his moods. He did escape on the weekend and had the cat bailed up so Mum had to intervene. Poor Mog, he's absolutely terrified of anything with wings now. I would send pics but am hopleless at it.

Quick update - Hannibal is up for sale! Mum can't keep him as he is too big for her pens, so if anyone wants him let me know.
