Does anyone know of anybody selling Russian Garlic in WA? I used to grow it about 5 years ago but unfortunately chooks have dessimated my stocks and the only place I can seem to find is in the eastern states (and due to quarantine restrictions - I can't procure any). I am deeply addicted to the stuff, unfortunately so are my chooks! Any suggestions gratefully appreciated!

Yep I"m pretty sure it is. It's large brown cloves and the plants are pretty huge too. And not as smelly on the breath either, although my roosters don't seem to complain about the hen's stinking them out(!)

I found this interesting it was on Burkes backyard (Note: Russian garlic is an environmental weed in Western Australia.) also its a member of the leek family because its so mild I thought it would be a better tasting garlic I will have to try to get hold of some and give it a go this winter Trev

Jumbo garlic is available when in season at the Wanneroo markets. I wish it would grow like a weed in my garden.I think it is best when straight out of the ground know as[ wet garlic ].

If you do get hold of some, let me know where from. I think the only thing that is "weed" status around here now is calthrop and melons! Would anyone like some of these? Plenty to 'round!

we get the blame for a lot of stuff that the east has and we are not allowed to have I suppose that one way is to say its a weed and that should take care of it, it may grow down south but it would be hard to grow in the wheatbelt /goldfields as a weed Trev

Like agapanthus, Flinders Range wattles - had 2 self seed and they are still growing but only after copious amounts of watering, Seasol-ing and mulching. Count myself lucky if anything grows! Capability Brown said "a weed is only a plant growing in the wrong spot". I think half my inherited garden would qualify as weeds then!
