cool trev, i don't know about where you are but we have had some cooler weather recently, and that can influence the hatching days depending on how reliant your incubator is on external temps.
here's hoping a few more chose to hatch out...........yeehaw!

HI Jacquie yes we had a bit of a cool change the bator is new not that's anything to go on I should keep on changing the days all the time I am now 4 days late and have 5 hatched out this is strange Trev

oh wow five.................that suggests that the temp is running slightly low if they are hatching late. but slightly low is BETTER at this time of the year, when the temp can also spike due to hot weahter like we are having today.

HI Jacquie its hard to put a finger on it the eggs I was given to hatch out for mate have not hatched out at all not one of them I will leave for another day then I am going get shot of what's left clean her out and have a good look at the wiring as this is the first time its played up it could be just as you say the weather we will see what the next lot will do Trev

I Forgot to tell you all that two of the eggs that hatched out have RIR in them the Roo I have is around 9 to 10 years old we have had him for 7 of thoes years he was passed his prime when we took hime on with huge spurs on his legs . I did not think he had it in him Good Old boy Trev

Hi jacquie this is when I would like to know how to sex the chicks at an early age I know I was told one day that the roos have there flight feathers in the first day !! I keep on picking them out for roos and the not I will find out one day trev

the feather sexing thing only works if they have been bred to be feather sexed..............its not a good all round general rule. but you can find out by trying it out on your birds and seeing what you get, you never know, your birds may have the right genes for feathersexing
