Here we are three araucanas out of 8 have hatched and a few others piping this is the first part of my side of the bargain I made with a mate for pea hay, when there all out I can get on with stage two. All this high finance going on its a shocker. My speckled Sussex has gone broody for me good girl, its her first time and she should hatch out on Christmas eave that would be great . The first lot of meat chicks I put in the brooder have taken off looking stronger every day, I am verry happy the way there growing. The next lot are due out on the 8/9 December it will be interesting to see what colours I get this time so all In all its a great time at Quambie Trev

Hi Trev That sounds great. One of my girls has gone broody and is a stalwart so I will put some eggs under her for hatching boxing day. Lets hope Christmas isn't to hot for our new chicks. What age do you process your meat birds. Peter and I are going to try to process this time instead of giving the roos away. Thanks linda

How many have you got now Trev? and photo's of course! I have a broody now too and her eggs are due christmas day, that's quite exciting ;D ;D ;D Pity we will be out at my cousins for the day but that is probably good as it'll stop me disturbing her. This one is Willow which is her first time, fingers crossed she is ok.

HI Linda Yes I do process all my own meat birds have always done it just as well as there is nowhere around here that can or will do it I get called in for all sorts of stuff its all par of the bargaining system
She I am not a happy guy half way through the bator got extra hot one day we hit 40 and I forgot to bring it in out of the shed out of 8 araucana eggs set 4 hatched out two of the 4 had there legs up around there head and I have found that they never recover from that so I had to put them out of it they could not even walk pore things they will be able to walk now in the happy chickie ground in the sky I just hope that the meat birds will do better as they caught it as well only a couple of days to go and I will find out
Trev
