A friend has given me a chook - an Isa - that she thinks needs to be put down but was unable to do it herself. It has a very strange crop - it's very soft and FULL. Enlarged and you can actually feel the feed inside Otherwise it looks very heathy and she says it has been this way for some time. I'm tempted to keep it for a while and see if a change in feed will make a difference, but because I've never seen it before, is it some kind of condition? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Jacquie! That does look exactly like what this poor girl has. So I suppose I either let her continue on (she's actually due to live at my Mum's house as a muched loved pet! ) or put her to sleep. Think I might stick to plan a - she's not skinny at the moment but I expect it will cause her problems in the future. Thanks again!

She's actually going really well! She's such a happy and relaxed little thing, Mum loves her. We did a bit of research too, and some people suggest that you can actually try and soften it up a bit and then try and work all the stuck food out. We're thinking of giving it a go, but she has been this way for a while, so I'm betting it's going to smell REALLY bad! (and I have a delicate stomach - lol! ;D ) Other than that, it's either let her continue on how she is, or surgery! My Mum may just be crazy enough to pay for surgery too!
