The kids are putting some of their bantams in and each of them are showing off eggs. I'm doing photo's as Hubby is away and the orps are too heavy for me to carry. Hoping they will do ok but it's just so much fun. Our white silkie will be experiencing a bath today to get ready.

they judge the eggs on their uniformity of size and colour, and break one open to see how the inside of the egg looks. there should be 3 distinct layers to the egg. here is an outline of what they do in america, but it gives you an idea of what they are looking for. www.findtoyou.com/powerpoint/view.php?id=386413

Oh well that's us failed already lol. When it said any other colours took it literally. ours are different colours sizes and shapes. We will know better next year.

Well eggs did better than expected. Our blue one's got a second. Kids got a first and a second each with their Bantams so they are happy and feel very rich with the winnings. I don't think quite broke even but we had fun. LOL
