My two silky pullets (and my rooster) got their first wash and blow waves yesterday. I actually had a bit of fun! The girls were well behaved and the rooster tried eating the bubbles... lol I've figured out tho, that my rooster isnt a pure silky rooster. Pretty sure anyway. He has pink skin, and I think pure silkies have black skin? Oh and ignore the fact that i washed them in the kitchen sink, I don't have tubs for them yet. Behaving really well. Might be the fact that she can see the herbs and spices tho and is thinking if she's naughty she'll end up in the pot... Getting towelled And my pink skinned, red combed "silky" rooster. (Not entering him in the show, just wanted to see how he'd go with a wash) Now i just need to learn more about showing and preparing for shows!

What a great laugh. they look very soggy indeed. Bit like drowned rats really. Yes they do have black skin, so I think you are right in thinking he is a cross. How did they go with the blow dry? and havy you got any after photo's?

They did really well with the blow dry, i just sat them on the toilet lid (i put a towel over my toilet lid-down and it was the perfect height for me) and they just sat there. They weren't too keen with the under the wings part, but i did as much as i could and then hung them upside down to do their legs and belly.
I only just bought my hair dryer a few weeks ago, so now my other half thinks i bought it just for the chooks!!
