Hi Everyone, I purchased a rooster last week but don't wish to put him in the run with the others just yet until I am sure what the blackspots are on his comb? I have seen roosters at auction with quite a lot of these but he only has a few, internet searching has said it could be wounds from pecking (that is why he had to go from his last home fighting with the other rooster), fowl pox?? but it doesn't appear to be from the description (I hope). Any help greatly appreciated

they look like he has been fighting, they don't look at all like fowl pox. he has a few war wound scars on his wattles too, so he would seem to be a feisty boy!!

Yes it looks to me like he has a few peck marks. Looks just like my roos when they have been having a squabble. Or sometimes the hens get it when the roo has been a bit rough with her too..

Thank you, I have put him in the run and am monitoring him!!! The others are only young so I don't want him being too rough when I get the chance he will have his own run and girlfriends Thanks again

I have got the black spots problem also. I thought it was from fighting so thanks for this, you have all confirmed my thoughts.
