Out of the 6 that hatched only 2 survived, 1 bantam NN who is a sweetie and a little brown chicken that was suppose to be a large NN but who knows what it is. The little jap bantam drowned 2 days ago in his water bowl the day after I bought some more little Jap banties to keep him company, the water bowl was only 5cms deep I still dont know how he managed to do it but will take an updated photo of the little NN tomorrow and post it.

So far I have had no fatalities, unfortunately nature is not too kind to us kind hearted souls, so really it is only a matter of time. Not looking forward to that, but I am loving my babies

Hi Fluffy, sorry cant take any photos as the last NN went to chicken heaven, and the little jap bantam, (the day after I bought some little mates for him, drown in the water bowl, still dont know how he managed it as the water is only about 5cms deep if that) the only one left is what was suppose to be a Large NN, but it definitely isnt, a cross breed of some description and it is thriving.

What a shame. I have recently lost two of my babies, one dead in the nest. The other just looked poorly, I removed it to a brooder went to church and it was dead when I came home. At least the other 4 are doing well with the hen.

I had one of my chikcs die the other night. One of my cross breds but all others are doing well, fingers crossed.
