I know what you mean Shea, I keep going down to the shed and looking in at the chicks in the broody box and I have incubated loads of eggs, but it is still exciting.. Still more piping in the bator, will keep you posted....

did they hatch from your own eggs tona? they have beautiful middle toe feathering, you must be so chuffed!! gorgeous little beauties, i love silkie chicks, looks like you have a good range of colours there ok hehe i wil take some more pictures of my babies too

Hi jacquie. Yes they were from my own chickens.. Great colors aren't they I am really pleased with how they have come out. My roos are doing an excellent job...

Naww! They are just gorgeous! I just have to ask a silly question, but are silkie chicks much smaller than other larger breed chicks? They are just too cute! Congrats!

Thankyou ikbokchook. Yes the silkie chicks are much smaller than all the big chicken breeds.. At the moment they are so cute cos they are all fluffed up now and running around and they are just so tiny.. Little sweeties...

Well I think my hatching is finished now. I have 29 chicks, 7 unfertilised and 6 that didn't hatch, so I think I did prety well.. Will post some update pics soon. Some of them are really getting some great colors and stripes on them, so I am really happy with that...
