A couple of days ago I decided to get stuck into the orchard, it was all over grown with grass and weeds. I had to spray for leaf curl and give the trees a good feed, trim back all the trees, cut out all the intrusive branches and open up to get more sun inside them. While doing this all I could see were swollen buds all over the trees and from the look at it this could be a good year fingers crossed Trev

Ive noticed that our early fruiting peach has a couple of flowers. Seems too early though as it so cold still in the mornings.

Hi Trev, I couldn't believe it when I saw the buds in the orchard this year. It is very early.. I have 750 summer fruit trees so I have had to recruit some family members for help with the pruning before it is too late...

Hi Trev, I don't think I am going to get it all done.. We only moved in here last october and I don't think the trees have been pruned in around 3 or 4 years so they are very unruly.. The good thing is that they are all espaliate (I don't know how to spell that) you know how they are trained to grow sideways up the wire. So they are quite easy to prune...

Hi Trev, I have plums, apricots, peaches, and nectarines in the main orchard and then up around the house I have 2 large mulberry trees, 3 cherry trees, 2 almonds, an apple an orange and a lemon... I also have 1500 olive trees. The top olive grove up near our house are 750 oil olives and I have 750 table olive trees down by the river. I am in the middle of pickling 500 kilos of table olives at the moment.. I also have a cupboard full of jams and preserves and we also sell boxes of fresh fruit to people who would like to come out and pick their own...
