One of my chicken's head is swelling I don't know what to do. Can they get anything like a sinus infection as her head looks like mine feels when I have a cold. Thanks for any input Chris

that does sound like the bird has some sort of respiratory infection. how much do you value your bird? it is probably worth taking it to the vet to get an antibiotic for teh infection, and sometimes they drain the sinuses as well.

Sorry to hear about your chicken with swollen head. It is very inportant that you totally isolate her from everyone else and always feed her last dont touch her or go near your other chooks in the same clothes etc there is some awlful deases going round and some of them cause this head swelling it is very hard to tell exactly which one it is. A course of anti-biotics is her only chance but which anti is always the question because so many deseases look the same. sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings also these deases are quite regularly carried by mice and rats so I would do a total rodent bait just in case. Even if you havent seen any.

Thank you. I always get excellent answers to my questions. I will isolate her and get her to the vet on Monday. As for the rats and mice .... look out!!
