Hi I'm from the hills and new to the addiction of hatching chicks. I got fed up buying and losing days later to a nasty fox. So have now got cage like fort Knox and have hatched 4 lots since October. Whoo hoo first lot have started laying this week ;D Our latest clutch we put in the incubator for my son's year one class as they are doing farms this term. We bought 16 fertile eggs and up till day 18 looked after at home. Last Monday 14 out of the 16 went carefully to school to finish off. Me much worried in case anything went wrong. On the Wednesday we had peeping and by end of class 7 little cracks. 8am Thursday 3 chicks by 8.30 8 and much to the delight of watching children all but one popped out within the hour. Very exciting for them relief for me They have been spending their days being much loved and their nights here at home for some peace.
