Hi everyone, just wondering if there will be any fertile eggs ,plymouth rock, rhode island red, wyandotte, up for auction?

sometimes they have fertile eggs, but not very often. you would need to go along on the day to have a look and bid. you are more likely to find some birds of those breeds at teh auction, but they don't have a list, its just what people bring along on the day.

Do the birds need to be pedigree? X's ok? Also do you need to book or just roll up with the birds.

No birds don't need to be pedigree I am 99% sure you just turn up on the day (from memory!). Last year we just turned up with birds

Thanks Rina. I think I will look and see who I can sell. I'm getting a nearly a dozen eggs a day so think I need to cut down a few. No eggs for nearly a year now all our babies are big girls and laying.

We went too, our first so did not have a clue. Great fun, took 9 sold 5 bought 2 and came out ahead so very happy. Almost sold an other but the bidder was new too and had gone around and put her name all over the place thinking if she missed out "winning" she still might get one she liked. Oh well brought the hen home and she can keep laying here. Might get adicted to auctions as well as incubating. LOL One of the ones we bought was a black Pekin pullet too. The other was a belgium bantam. My little girl wanted to get a pink chicken this one is close enough to purple for her to be happy.

Was a good day. I bought a trio of Blue Orpingtons. Shame I didn't get to meet you Annieyokie or whoohooraloo, but I didn't know who to look for! Maybe we should start a thread with pics of our faces?
