Hi Everyone, I took some pictures of my mob yesterday so thought i'd share them. Meet my chooks! One of my Australorpe hens (ecxuse the state of my chook pen, we've had a ton of rain and that's whats left of it...) My little Old English Game hen (well i'm pretty sure that's what she is...) I call her Henny Penny. One of my bantam crosses. I am guessing she is silky cross auracana. The rooster that I thought was gay. Not sure what mix he is... any thoughts? He's quite pretty really. One of my Blue Orpingtons My silky rooster in the middle. I love his big poof of "hair" on his head. He's now in his own pen with my silky pullets, old english game hen and the bantam that looks araucana cross silky... Side view of my pretty rooster. One of my new silky pullets. Now, lets see your chooks

Wow, what a gorgeous flock. I am particularly impressed by your new silkie pullet, love the colour. Did you get her in your recent trip to Perth? Here is some of my brood. I have not managed to get all of the silkies but they are pretty much the same dark colour as the ones in the picture. Also my dark campbells

Oh your silky rooster is lovely! I had one years ago i names Harviere, just like him. hehe. I think I have a Campbell drake too... you can just see half of him in one of the pictures. His partner got out of the chook pen and got attacked by something, and now he's only got one girl who is black, i think she's a mallard? You can see her head in one of the pictures too. (I'm not too knowledgable with duck breeds) (Do ducks ever lay eggs? I've had mine for about 6 months and never had an egg from them)
Yes, I got my gorgeous silky from my trip to perth from a lovely lady in gidgie.

My dark campbell duck has just started laying now, she is about 8 months old. My drake is still young about 5 months old and is very keen to be a dad, but I think he may need a bit more practice. We have some of the eggs which we will try and incubate, then we can tell if they are fertile

I've almost given up on ducks! My last female got out and something got her! I have no idea how she got out, i checked for holes, but obviously they can get themselves really small! So my drake is a lonely bachelor

I know, and i cant balme anyone because i dont know who did it (if it was one of our dogs anyway). I'm now tossing up whether or not to get him some more girls or not. Does it matter what breed i get for him? Because i've forgotten what breed he is... oops!

Could you put a picture of him by himself? Hi looks a bit khaki campbell, but his bill is the wrong colour Ducks are social creatures so he would really like a friend.

Ok i'll get a picture today sometime, he really is lonely you can tell. The other chooks don't really mind him but won't let him near the food until they've eaten so he just hangs out under the shelter by himself.

Oh yeah, that other picture (i just looked up) was of his last girlfriend. No idea what she was, she was all black with shiney green. He did have a girlfriend of his own breed but she did a runner too. Poor boy! So my next question, should i get him a khaki campbell girl or can they cross breed?

farmchooks, you upload them to somewhere like photobucket, and then once they're uploaded you copy the tag for the picture with the [ img ] part. I know that probably doesnt make sense but maybe someone else can interpret better lol
