Symptoms swollen head discharge from the eyes, temperature, crop empty . you can feel the body temp without a thermometer, and there weak can hardly stand. they die within hours . I do not like this one if I have to i will distroy all the roos to keep my flock safe . any help will be great I do not want to loose my flock I have them separated and have done from the first time they arrived at my place . Hi Trev ..unfortunatly it sounds like Coryza .I quote my from the egg exchanges newsletter I wrote this month below .It can wipe out 1/2 a flock not nice Have a read of the rest of the news letter you may see some more symptoms in the other conditions i covered www.eggschangeauctions.com/newsletter/May%202010%20News.pdfInfectious Coryza .It is characterized by facial swelling, girl thingy eyes and nasal discharge, swollen wattles, sneezing, drop in egg production, weight loss, and inflammation of the trachea. This condition is a highly contagious and can wipe out ½ a flock. It is also possible from them to just drop dead no symptoms .not a happy scenario. hope its not could be a few other things . Id google it also and see what you think . I know somone who had it and lost 70% others less when it was contained

Hi Again I have just read that thanks I have put multi vitamins in there drinking water along with Garlic powder at the first sign of it. I have lost three now, all Light Sussex roos strangely only one breed seems to be affected at this time. I do like the honey and garlic mix I will get one going, to late for this lot me thinks. The only swollen bit is the head around the eyes the combs are fine no nasal discharge, just the eye but not fed for a few days totally empty Thanks again Trev

Sorry to hear this Trev, I had the same thing with one of my Hi-Line hens a few months ago, she got it while visiting the hens next door, within hours she went from a happy healthy hen to a very sick hen, displaying all the symptoms that Annieyokie has mentioned. I unfortunately had to put her down about 1 hr after she started showing symptoms to protect the rest of my flock. Good luck I hope that you don't lose any more
