What sort of egg laying cycle do pekins have? I've 2 girls that are about 2 years old. When they first started laying, they were very reliable. I had that many eggs in the fridge I was giving them away. Now it is a different story. I can't remember the last time I had an egg. Must be about 6 months or more.

I don't know about pekins but I'm having the same problem with ALL my birds!! Well, I still get the odd egg here and there, but nothing like the same time last year when I was giving them away! Here's hoping all our chookies start laying soon! Oops! Just realised this is in duck and goose! (so you probably mean ducks - right??!!) Blonde moment - my apologies!

Thanks ikbok. We've had indian runners before and they were pretty constant, never really had a big break like this. They get fed layer pellets and lots of scraps, and can peck at parsley and wormwood through the fence. I suppose we'll just wait and eventually they should start again.

I have the same problem with just my light sussex, I am sure it was summer the last time I got an egg from my three girls. The silkies on the other hand have been laying really well, so go figure....

I got 3 the other day from the chooks so out of 6 that's not too bad. A couple of my light sussex are laying.

Well I've had 2 eggs in 2 days from the ducks so maybe the drought is over. Now its the hens, started, stopped, now nothing for a couple of days. Come on the warmer weather.
