;D FINALLY, it has come! the day when I find my first egg in the coop... only last night I took all three ladies out for a big cuddle and one on one pep talk, trying to persuade them to start laying eggs , it must have worked for one of them ;D ;D tasted yummy, unfortunately I didn't get much because I had to share it with the kids

Anne, unless your darling spangled hamburg rooster had more on his mind than counseling there is no danger of cutting new life short in our coop ;D ;D here is proof of the event: and here the ladies in question: they all look pretty much ready to lay to me Bonnie has been looking like this the longest, so I reckon it was her

;D that'll be right, my favorite chook lays the first egg ;D when I think about it, she has matured a lot lately, poor thing is really hanging out for some rooster attention, so that would make sense...

;D ;D ;D ;D...and I didn't even have to wait too long for the second one !!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D and my clever lady even laid it into the nest box so my little girl could do what she was dying to do since we got the chooks: open the lid and take an egg out of the straw!
