Up all night with labour pains all for triplets so far one this morning on its way out I will leave the eggs in for another day to see what happens Trev

They can hatch over 2- 3 days once they start . Fingers crossed for lots more

Five so far and one weak chick total 6 anyway that's a start not as good as I had hoped for but I had my thoughts about the other rooster the one in the pot looks like I was correct as for the Silky she has not got any yet poor thing and has sat there all the time I should put this lot under her and take her eggs away trev

Well I had to do it I have had 8 out so far but two are dead never mind I have swapped the eggs that were under the silky as hers are still not hatched out yet Trev

I ended up with 7 out of all the eggs I had including the 6 under the silky she is now the mom to them all how placed they are I took her eggs and gave her chicks and she took up the challenge without question they must be one of the best chooks in the world I have just put another 12 eggs in the bator strike while the iron is hot now I have got used to the bator a bit better I may do better we will see I will keep you guys posted thanks for all the well done messages nice to be a dad again

Great to hear you have little patter of chicky feet at last. I do agree Silkies are the greatest mums. I have one (my avatar) who just keeps adopting little ones that are not hers which suits me just fine. Means less mums in the broody pen. I don't want to burn her out so I will make sure she does not adopt any more.

HI Fluffychook do you move your broodys from where they have decided to stay. only reason I ask I have a light Sussex in a pen with the roo and other chooks she loves it there but what will happen when she has the chicks will they have a go at her and the chicks if so should I move her Trev
