Hi Lloyd, here is a picture of Pingu and then with the other light sussex who are on death row. 2 will be saved from the exectutioner on Wednesday. He's from a light sussex rooster over a black australorp. They usually hatch all black but he had a yellow head so we kept him to see how he'd turn out.

Your right Shea he is a good looking rooster (to coin a phrase I would like to have them all but my shed is far from finished and I haven't even had a chance to work on it this weekend sadly so don't know when I'll be ready for some birds , sorry

Shea, how much longer can you hold on to these birds? I have an avairy but it's not really suitable however I think a few weeks in this rather than death row would be more appealing!

We were going to do the light sussex that I can't sell and put in the freezer, fact of life when having baby chicks is that no-one wants the roosters. We only have 1/2 acre and at the moment 8 roosters that are crowing. I don't want to get rid of Pingu. If you do not take him I have friends who are moving to 5 acres in June but they will still need to build something when they get there. So he will be here for a while anyway. If you want him, he's yours. I'd just like a photo to see what he turns out like. At the moment they are in a small pen that is only about a metre high and I move it around on the grass every couple of days. They don't fly out but i guess you are worried about foxes. An aviary would be ok as long as they got a bit of time out of it each day.

Wow Shea, that rooster is interesting with the pencilling. He looks like the colour of silver pencilled wyandottes. Very pretty boy

Hi and welcome all I can say about a new coop is make sure it is fox proof cos it is heartbreaking to have a fox get into your chookies.. The new coop looks great though. Make sure you show us the new arrivals..
