I thought this might be an interesting thread to start off. The breeds I have are Light Sussex, Gold and silver wyandottes, speckled sussex, new hampshires, RIR's, buff orpingtons, and have just hatched some blue and black orpingtons, blue and black australorps, whites are in the initial stages, legbars, plymouth rock, silver spangled hamburgs, and hopefully soon with have some Transalvan Naked Necks large and bantam if the eggs hatch, the lady that I bought the eggs from over east didn't have quite enough eggs to make up the 2 doz, so I dont know why but agreed to some silkie and jap bantam eggs as well. Hubby knows about the naked necks coming, but I havent broken the news to him yet about the silkies or jap bantams, He is going to be so pleased "NOT"

Have you ever thought about cream legbars indiangame, they lay a lovely green egg, and are also autosexing.

Thanks horses7. What did hubby say when the eggs arrived. Another thing the pic I posted was HUGE, I tried to follow your advice about pics, must have done something wrong

He knows about the large Naked Necks, but I havent told him there are also bantam naked necks or the silkies or the japs, I just snuck them into the incubator. To resize your photo, you can use either paint, which is a program a lot of computers have or you can edit the photo on photo bucket to resize it before posting.

I have a bit of a mix at the moment. I have 3 Blue orpington hens, 3 australorpe hens, 3 sussex hens, 7 isa browns, a mixed breed rooster (been meaning to get a picture of him to see if anyone knows if he's pure or mixed..), a silky rooster and a mixed lot of crossbred bantams oh and an old english game hen, and just got myself two silky pullets.
I'm in Perth at the moment collecting eggs for my incubator. I've managed to get 12 araucana, 7 silky, 12 blue orpington and 1 buff orpington, i'm hoping to get a few pekin's too to finish off, I have my name down with a place at the moment so fingers crossed i atleast get half a dozen of those! And if the majority of those hatch, i'll be needing to make extensions on my chicken coop! yay!
