Jacquie I put this on chooknet and was asked how much per pen or cage? Also what was the address, so those who need it: The address is the corner of Amherst and Salisbury Roads in Swan View, it is a recreational centre and the pavilion is the second on the left behind the big building. There should be others there to direct you or just listen for crowing.

bummer! That's the first weekend after my parents arrive for a visit, I don't think anyone will understand if I sneak off to look at chooks and meet my newly found internet friends ( even though it's very tempting) I can't risk being cut out of the will...

Maybe I can organize a little adventure and just happen to be around the corner, so it would be silly not to come over and say hello, wouldn't it?? is there any other attractions around?

The road to Brown Park is off Morrison road and I kept my horse on Morrison rd and rode horses up to National Park in my youth , so there must be a easy way to get to National park from there by road. Also alot of picnic spots up there (or there use to be) Brings back memories of Pony club camps etc.

Linda a pencil auction is where anyone can put birds up for auction and their is no auctioneer. They are put in pens or cages and the seller puts a card on the front with their minimum purchase price on it. Buyers are then able to put their bids on upto the end of auction, in this case 1pm. The person with the highest bid wins. Gets a bit frantic in the last 5 minutes especially if you are bidding on several birds, some people take friends to put bids on birds they want so they don't miss out. They are great fun.

You can sell whatever you like, I remember asking about young chicks and it was a discounted fee. I think all others are per bird no matter how many are in a cage, I am not absolutely sure on this so maybe give Noelene a call. She will know for sure.
