they are either silkies or silkie pekin bantam cross - all the eggs look the same from both the silkies and bantams so i really wont be able to tell intil its a bit older i suppose? Its doing well and mum is teaching it how to eat and drink etc she is still sat on the other egg so that should start to hatch tomorrow maybe?

Hi all the little one is doing fine but mum is still skinny- i have tried giving her cat food and chopped apple etc but all she wants to do is feed her chick with it - Will the chick be ok eating it - if i separate them even for a minute she wont eat anything - she is pooping but not much??She must be eating some of the chick starter but her crop is always empty when i feel it - shes lively enough and i have seen her drinking - am i just worrying too much???

Mine are often skinny for weeks and all they do is feed the babies .I just make sure there is plenty of Chickie crumble I give mine small amounts of grated veg as well my chicks eat everything but I make sure its not to much start them with just small amounts..If she looks healthy and happy she probably is
