Hi, I'm looking at trying my hand with turkeys can anyone recommend a supplier of chicks (are they called chicks?) also do they make much noise and are they friendly? I've probably asked three dumb questions I'd appreciate any info ! Thanks

Hi! They're not dumb questions! (if they are I've asked dumber - ha ha! ) I don't know a whole lot about turkeys but our neighbours have them and they are quite noisy - the males anyway. This might be only in breeding season though, as he seems to be quiet now - they may have something to do with christmas though! Also, I'm pretty sure the babaies are called chicks and sometimes see them advertised in the quokka. As for are they friendly? Dunno - I have heard they are incredibly stupid (sorry turkeys!) and I do know that you should clip their wings as they are pretty good at flying - found the neighbours one in my horse paddock once, the poor horsie was terrified! Hope this helps a little bit and good luck with your turkeys!

Well I never knew what baby turkeys were called! Always just assumed they were chicks! You learn something everyday!
