HI All Thanks for the kind words yes we love it, but we were verry lucky in finding the place. It has taken us 4 years to get this far now the hard work starts. I have to find a few chooks that I would like to rear that are on the rare list this should take a year or so. I have all the stuff to make the runs and they will be well sheltered . With the others I have a retic system on all the chook runs when the hot days come in on it goes to cool there home down, and at 44c to 48c like we have had in the last week they will need it. I do not want to loose any of them I have rigged up a drinker system through a 200 ltr container that keeps them going for a couple of weeks Trev

Wow looks like a fantasic life Trev.
I would love to learn how to make cheese. I am trying to talk my other half into letting me get either some goats or sheep and possibly even a small breed of milking cow....We only have about 3 acres here so I guess most likely that it will not be a cow. Love to hear more about your lifestyle cheers Carolyn

HI Carolyn Thanks for that you can have a cow use a Dexter the croft cow that's what I make my cheese from they will give you about 6/7 lters each milking I make the cheese each Wednesday at this stage I only use 10 ltrs of milk full milk that is I do not sterilise it so its called raw milk you end up with a slightly different cheese each time you make one its just the make up of the raw milk but there all great to eat we have two heifers about to calf next week I hope if I get up there in time I will post the photos I love them there not a huge cow but quite and love company I will get a few photo of the cheese together and post them later on I had no idea how to make cheese but my mate next door got the cows we get the milk so I told him I would make the cheese Butter Yogurt and yogurt cheese the first year was not to good but it fell into place after that I could not get used to the changing milk but messed about a bit and all works well now it has it ups and downs as we have the cows we also have Beef to eat the bull calf's have to go when there a year old and Dexter beef is great to eat same with the lambs we rescue the hoggets go back to the freezer when there old enough and the yews go to breed if there good enough now I have the Sussex for the table ducks and guinea fowl along with the veggies when the sun and the roos leave my garden alone we get stuff its got that bad I will have to put up a Polly tunnel with shade cloth on it so we can grow next year Trevor
