This morning I went to turn my eggies one last time and top up the second water channel to find that we have some "early birds" again Day 18 and one of the chicks has pipped through the shell already! This is my first batch of Pekin eggs from over east, I've always hatched my own (except that one batch of Southern River eggs) so I'm quite excited to see what colours I'll get Oh, and it gets better, candled them yesterday and all 16 are alive and kicking! So lets cross our fingers for my first 100% posted eggs hatch.....

Thanks guys 3 have pipped through the shell now, the first one has almost hatched. Wendy, hopefully they should be a nice mix of colours. They are from terannie. Her photo gallery: tanie5.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=3163721 I've also just popped a dozen eggs in yesterday from Natobeth so hoping for a few lavenders from that batch

Well I woke up to 5 little chickadees this morning. Went down to Midland for the day and when we got home there was 8 more chickies in the bator. So that's 13 down 3 to go! 2 of them have pipped through the shell and the other has pipped through the air sac and is cheeping away in the egg. So hopefully when I get up in the morning they will have hatched and given me my first 100% posted egg hatch! Lovely assortment of colours too, will try to get some piccies for you guys tomorrow
