Does anyone here rest pens now and then and if so then how often please.
Do you lime them or clean them out in any way?
We have a few pens, all with chooks in at the moment but 1 lot seem to be getting worms on a regular basis. I was wondering how to get rid of the worm eggs that must be on the ground and if I removed the chooks what I would need to do to the pen.
Any ideas please?

Hi Choodu247 I rotate my pens regulalry for this same reason, once they are empty i always remove all feed bins and water bowls, and then give the entire pen a spray with coopex, ensuring that the spray gets into all crevices where mites like to hide. After about 4-6 weeks, I'll go int there and rake everything out, replace the bedding and then move the chooks back in. Other people might have a different way, but this works for me Good luck

I don't have the luxury for the room and I don't seem to have the problem with worms either. I clean out my coop with just water using a high pressure spray and worm every change of season. I also have either concrete flooring or pavers down. This also keeps parasites down.
