Just rang Noelene, no need to register as there is no auctioneer. So you just turn up on the day. Birds are to be penned between 9 and 11.30. Auction starts at 11.30 and finishes at 1pm. Cost per entry is $1 per bird for members and $1.50 per bird for non members. It is held at the Brock Pavilion at Brown Park Swan View (there is no name on the Pavilion that I know of), so listen for the crowing. It is not in the main building but behind it. The address is Cnr Amherst and Salisbury Rds. If entering from Salisbury Road the Pavilion is the second building on the left.

Has anyone been before? Can you tell us what the quality, numbers and prices are like? If it sounds promising I'd say I'll end up down there ...

I went last year and there quite a few birds, and quite a bit of variety, prices also varied as did the quality, from memory I think Jacquie's bird went for the highest price for the day

I think this is true of all auctions, plus you can never know what will be there. I went all the way to Harvey for their auction a few months ago only to find nothing that I wanted. But at the Midland auction last year I was bidding on two birds.

its a great day out, i have been a few times both as a seller and as a buyer, and i really enjoy it. there is usually a sausage sizzle to raise money for the club too. it gets very exciting towards the end when teh bell goes for the last ten minutes.
