Hi I have a young light sussex hen that looks under the weather...standing wings and tail down, lethargic, and pooey around her bum...i am thinking it might be coccidiosis? She is in with 4 others should I separate her?
Do I need to take her to the vet to get medication or is there something that I can get from stock feeds etc If so anyone know where SOR SJ Shire that stocks it.
Thanks!

If you suspect cocci, isolate her immediately and try and clean up as much manure out of the coop as possible to help cross infection. I would isolate anyway. Put her on Sulphaquin or equivalent, ring up your stock feeds place and ask for it telling them what you are treating. Post a picture of her would help and also a bit about the history of your girl. Any recent changes in environment or diet as well.

hi thanks for the suggestions - actually rang and spoke to you 7horses. I isolated her and put sulphaquin dose in her water that afternoon but she was dead the next morning don't know what it was. Keeping a close eye on the others that she was in with but touch wood all are still fine.

It is very sad when you lose a little one, but knowing you did all you could helps. How are the rest going.
