Hi everyone, well I had a good time at the auction. I met up with Nelly G from backyard poultry. She's lovely. And yes, I came hope with a couple of new chookens, well 7 actually ;D I have 3 bantam gold pencilled/partridge wyandottes, 1 silver pencilled wyandotte, 1 black Pekin, a white and partridge/brown silkies. They are all hens and I even got 3 eggs while I was at Mums The black Pekin and the brown silky are definately laying. I love my black Pekin, shes beautiful. Dark black with a beetle green sheen ;D to her feathers Ive named her (Black) Betty. The silver wyandotte went to the vets this arvo before we got home as she has some kind of virus. Her eyes were watery and her nose was running clear discharge. She was fine when I got them all back to mums, so Im not sure if she had it before or she picked it up at mums Hopefully none of the others are infected. Im keeping all teh newbies separate from the rest of my chooks until I know. "Crystal" is on antibiotics for the next 5 days and in the laundry in a tub. Ryan took an instant liking to her and she is his chook now. I really hope she'll be ok. First chook Ive taken to the vets so on top of buying her shes cost me an extra $69 so far Shes lovely though. I will post some piccies tomorrow for you. Here they are This is Crystal the sick girl, who is doing alot better today. And the rest of the crew

We were supposed to leave tomorow but we are now leaving Friday Morning.....as we still have so much packing to do. Just means we wont get 2 days in Broome only the one. Oh well. but I would imagine there will be lots of new threads and piccies for me to read when I get back, or maybe I will get a chance to access internet at some time while I am away.

Thanks guys, well I now have 2 more showing signs of the dreaded lurgy. The vet phoned Ag Dept and they think it could be something called Mycoplasma. I have bought another $60 worth of antibiotics, so I really hope I dont lose any Also Im putting vitamins in all the chooks water. Crystal hasnt got worse today, she ate some food so thats good. My friend who wanted the silkies has decided to take hers home. I have enough medicine to give her some if needed. I really wanted her to keep them here until the all clear, but it was her choice. Fingers crossed for my new gals guys ok?
