I havent had duck eggs for a while (years) but I remember being pleasantly surprised that they tasted not much different to regular chook eggs. I had always thought you could only use them to make cakes I will let you know how the omelette turns out!

Well I know why we didnt find the nest, its because she keeps covering it up with leaves after shes layed!! Alan showed me the nest when i got home and you cant seven ee the egg he left in it this morning. Shes a sneaky girl All the eggs are dirty except for the latest couple.

Sosunds like my geese. They actually dig a little hole then cover the eggs up with straw or whatever is close by even twig and bits of rubbish

My ducks used to hide them in their nest as well. Must a way they stop the eggs being stolen until the sit.....not that they sat for more than half a day...lol

my ducks used to try and hide them from the dog's, not very successfully mind you so after a while she caught on to what the dog's were up to and used to stay sitting until I came and collected them, they are strange little buggers lol

My BEI's are the opposite, if I'm lucky they'll lay their eggs somewhere semi-hidden but alot of the time they just seem to plop them out on the dirt out in the open, in perfect view of the crows lol The Sax's on the other hand, always lay in the nest in their house.

WE got another egg today so shes laying well. i had another hunt in teh pen to see if I could spot another nest, but couldnt see anything. I will have to wait until i see one sitting on its own from the rest I guess. My god, we are going to have alot of eggs soon arent we??
