What is the gentlest way to introduce new chickens to the pen as they seem so nasty to eachother. I have got some beautiful new silkiy from scallywags and the others are being nasty(even the other silky that I bought these new silkys for company for her) They dont injure each other but they peck at each other.all my other chucks are really healthy know, they look like didferent chucks, but they are now well enough to be naughty.

Hi Donna, the best way I have found is too place them inside a smaller cage inside the pen and leave them there for the day, once they get over the initial who's the new kid stage, they won't bother anymore, then the best time to let them out into the pen is at night time, after the other chooks have gone to sleep for the night, that way by morning they are more readily accepted. This way works for me, but maybe someone else on here has a better way! Goodluck

Yep that's the best way. to add to that I would put the food and water containers for both sets of chooks either side of the divider so that they are exposed to each other with out them being able to peck each other. It should only take a couple of days
