Hi Everyone, I have the opportunity to get some show quality Mandarin Ducks from a breeder over east, I thought I'd mention it on here to see if anyone else would like some aswell, I can get them for $310/pair including freight, which isn't a bad price all the others I've been looking at have been around the $450/pair + Freight, I need to place an order for 4 pairs to get them at that price so if anyone else is interested, please let me know and I can organise it for you. The breeder is from Country NSW and is making a trip to the Sydney Airport by the end of next week so would hope to have an order by then She has 5 pairs in total so the more the merrier

There is a guy who has advertised in the wanted pets section of the quokka for a male mandarin - mayb hed take a female too ?? you could give him a call & ask if you get stuck.... or if you asked the guys at birds n all in caversham they would take a pair or too?? I asked them ( coz they have a pair) if they were selling any & they said no - they said they do get them from time to time & could take your name & put you on a waiting list - you have to give them a deposit & its $500 for the pair......... so maybe they buy 2 pairs & then sell them on - theyd still make a profit........

O.k. So i spoke to the breeder in NSW, and they advised me that they have sold the birds that they were holding for me on Saturday, because someone from W.A offered them $400 each pair, so they greedily took the lot. I'm so annoyed, but i found that the birds were mature birds, and he had never had any luck getting these ones too breed as they were related pairs, so I guess in a way it's a good thing. However, i did some ringing around and tracked down some more birds from 2 different properties that were born between Sep - Nov 08, so they are coming up for their first season this year, the pairs are unrelated, and the parents have one numerous awards at waterfowl shows in Vic, but the price is a little dearer, they are asking for $420/pair, including freight. I think it's a reasonable price for young birds, what does everyone else think?? Chellntrev & Judes, I sent you a pm if your interested, with this order we only need to buy 4 pairs including mine, and the birds wings are only clipped not pinioned, so they will be alot happier to breed with !

Hi everyone Their is one more pair left up for grabs, 3 of the 4 pairs have been secured,so if their is anyone who wants a pair of the amazing little ducks, please get hold of me as soon as possible, these ducks are very hard to get hold of, and if you do manage to find some, they are very difficult to breed because in most cases they are related pairs and they shouldn't be breed anyway, as i mentioned, these pairs are unrelated, and will breed prolifically if the conditions are right. I hope someone on here would like a pair of the ducks for themselves, aside from the fact that you'll never find a more colouful bird, they also fetch big dollars for proven breeders so there is the money making side of things aswell. If you would like a pair or know of someone who would like a pair, please let me know Thanks
