One of our new chicks has a curled toe and we have cut a piece off a straw and attached it around its ankle with some special tape. I have never had this before so wondering if I have done it right. Sorry it is a bit blurry

Hi Shelle, I had some with curled toes in my last hatch of Silkies....which I put down to the temp in the bater being a tad low. I managed to srtaighten the toes on the lightblue/splash by using a similar technique. but the other one with all it's toes curled also ended up with splayed legs which I could not fix...Just kep the straw on as long as you can. and feed the chicks some vitamin B

Thanks, I remembered there was a previous thread but when I did a search it did not come up. I think this one was caused by hatching difficulty as it was the last to hatch and I had to help it as the membrane had stuck to it. It was interesting to note that the last two in the hatch had to be helped, yet the rest were fine.
