after a devastating fox attack last month which destroyed my silkie flock including my beloved honey, the talking chook who was the best broody ever, chookmadhubby was kind enough to send me some eggs............ THANKYOU VERY MUCHnow the eggs were due to hatch tomorrow/wednesday but there have been some early arrivals arrival number 1 arrival no 2 arrival no 3 had a bit of trouble making more than one initial pipping hole but got there in the end and just some cute shots of one and two there are still several eggs pipping, so hopefully there will be some more chicks to come. now i can't wait for them to all grow up so i have fluffy silkies running round my yard again.

They are so cute Jackie I am so glad you found some one to provide you with some fertile eggs. I know how devastating it can be lose your flock to fox/dog attack. As I lost most of my own to the neighbours dogs late last year so I am currently on the replacement rounds myself....Any way chickie number 3 looks to have some very interesting colours. I hope you get plenty more to hatch and it will be great to see some photos after they have fluffed up a bit more...

They are gorgeous, you will have to post more pictures when they all hatch and fluff up. Interesting colours too. Like most of us we have all experienced fox/dog attacks on our flocks and know how you must have felt.

They are beautiful chicks Jacquie!! I'm sorry to hear about the fox taking the rest of your flock, they are evil little buggers when they want something, hope all goes well with this lot of chicks, and your able to get the colours that you need to start again
