Good news, we have a dozen eggs on the way from South Australia. We are excited to introduce a new bloodline and increase the numbers of silver laced bantams in W.A. and to make them readily available to more people. The silkies are on the nest and ready to go and lets see if mother nature can deliver us a healthy batch.

Good Luck. Please let us know how they go. I would let them sit for a couple of days to rest after you get them and you should probably check them after a week to see if they are developing. The last batch of eggs I got in from over east didn't go very well none have developed at all. I am not sure if it was due to the lateness of the season rendering the eggs infertile of if they suffered from transport issues. Mine were blue laced wyandottes. so I am very dissapointed... All the same would love to know how yours go.

Good luck with your hatch, as they are in a minority it is good to hear that you are happy to make some available when you have some spare

Fantastic you managed to get some eggs for your girls. My sister lost her rooster to respiratory so she did not have any eggs either. Are you intending to keep roosters?

Yes FluffyChook thats the plan, hope common sense prevails and we are allowed to keep more than one rooster here.

We need to get as many people as possible to make positive comment to the shire, this is the only thing that will save our right to keep roosters. I am currently talking with a lady on chooknet who is keen to do a dress up as a rooster/chicken and get people to sign a petition.
