Hi gellgroom, I think it possibly could be a hereditry problem, I wouldnt use her for breeding just in case. but if you were eanting her just as an egg layer she would be fine, you just need to make sure that she is eating and drinking alright, if you use deep dishes this makes it easier and a mash instead of pellets. the other option is possibly she is lacking in bone developement as in the case of rickets, this is a link to a rickets diet, www.wapoultrytraders.proboards103.com/index.cgi?board=poultryhealth&action=display&thread=1110 Give it her daily for a few weeks and see how she goes,

hi gellgroom like h7 said it is sad i had a massive black orpington and at 10 months approx his beak started to go crooked you can shape it with a dremel also just gently shave off the bit that is the prob but i could not do it and sold him as a pet only with his girlfriend.. as i wanted to breed and show he was so lovely but i did not want to risk it breeding into the babies
