The Albany auction yesterday had lots of birds and lots of people. The main sellers were known breed hens and fancy breeds like silkies, of which there were some beauties. Cross breds didn't sell that well unless it stated what the cross was, and they especially didn't sell if there was a cockerel with them. As usually, sadly, there were a lot of cockerels left at the end of the sale and some had "FREE" notices stuck on their cages. Although there were lots of sales (one seller sold over $900 worth of birds), the bidding was not that brisk. Many sold at the asking prices and where there were several bidders they tended to go up in small amounts. Some interesting items were a peacock and four large geese all of which sold.

They were having their AGM after the sale yesterday and deciding the dates then. I became a member while I was there so hopefully I will get a list of dates and I'll post it here when I do.
