and your Sussex look great I gave them away a year ago and started playing with ducks got a Silver apple yard large cross that with a K/camble great dinner size ducks but I need a couple of ducks for the apple yard same breed crossing is ok but the size of the breed is huge
yep all young birds there first year you seem to keep a load of bits on your property how many acres are you running I have welsummers two lines, Plymouth rocks, Indain game large, silkeys, new Hampshire, speckeled sussex, silver grey dorking, buff sussex, muskoveys, apple yard large and K campbells, must have missed one anyway I have cut back from last year oh and a few sheep I breed them for the freezer along with the chooks and the ducks my mate has the cattle we get fresh meat and milk I make the cheese and the yogurt and we have a god size orchard 28 trees and a large organic veggie patch all on a massive 12.5 acres I also grow my own crops depends what I need to feed this lot or what I want for the gardens that's me in a nutshell retired and playing
.... I'm on 2 1/2 acres.... 5 minutes to pub... 7 minutes to Woolworth's... only have two breeds of Chooks & two breed of pigeons... koi & two Alpaca.. to keep grass down... + a couple of dogs.... & in the last few weeks have been collecting Belgain Bantam... so that'll make three breed of chooks...:-) :-) ... long retired & do it to amuse myself... as a hobby... right into Pigeons..#1.

I see a few toys for you to play with good one the fastest thing I have is my tractor ?? you are lucky to have the shop and the local hotel not far from you I have to drive a 60 km round trip to the shop and the pub and the next town is 60 odd kms away from us 120 round trip but that's life and I do not mind it at all right into Pigeons I see that the only Pigeons we have are the wild type Pests and try to get into anything they can
Ya' I try very hard, to control the excesses... have two breed of chooks, about to become three & the same with my pigeons.. also about to become three!... different breed... as have a new breed coming shortly... in the next few weeks..:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) ... spent years trying to get them, re the pigeons.... my wants & need are nil!... health & family... the rest is a game... xxx
