About January 28 I had a broody sitting on eggs in a nesting box. I'm not sure when she actually went broody, possibly a day earlier or maybe even two days. Other hens squeezed in and laid more eggs over the next couple of days and on February 3 I moved the hen with ten eggs into a hatching pen. So if she started sitting on January 26 the first could start hatching around Feb 17 and some could go as late as Feb 24. That could be good for some wild guessing. They are gold laced wyandottes same father and pool of mothers as those in the first competition.

Hello Mike, thank you for the offer, will set up a thread for it. This one definitely has some wild cards in there.

Lakelands. Just because we're focused on fluffy's hatching at the moment, please tell your little egglets that we haven't forgotten them. I've told my lot that some of them could have the same birthdays as some of yours but they didn't seem to care. One of them said something about "b****y eastern staters but I don't know what that's all about. Another one said "they can't hold a candle to us". I ask you?

Funny.
I can tell you at this stage that all the eggs are coming along nicely. Quite snug in their little shells and developing as they should be. I am starting to get excited just over a week to go. I did hear one pipe up and say your country bumkins don't know what they are talking about. We are big city chickies now....
