White, Black, Blue, Partridge and a couple of the whites have faint partridge type markings on their backs in a bluey grey type shade. Guessing they'll end up white as well, any one else had white silkie chickies born with those type markings? A bearded silkie is basically a silkie with a beard. Heres a piccie of my white bearded cockerel: See the beard under his chin? Have got a partridge hen with a much better beard but dont have a piccie of her on hand. I think the bearded silkies are gorgeous My partridge hen Bernice has such a huge crest and thick beard that you can only just see these 2 lil eyes peering out lol.

I do love him, especially his beard, reminds me of Father Christmas. My bearded girls are dark colours so they don't stand out as much as the white. I have managed to breed a couple of babies with beards too. One has the most wonderful black fluffy head. I think its a girl from memory.

Thanks Wendy, actually he was delightful, even though he thought at 5 he was old enough to play with Poppy's razor. Today I have my granddaughter home with bad ears. Took her back to the doctor and got a new lot of antibiotics and a referral to the ENT Clinic at PMH. Poor baby is asleep at the moment. She was soooo sick last week with both ear infections and she had not even finished her course and she was going down hill again. Put her in front of the TV in Nana's BIG bed and she was asleep in minutes. Steph how many eggs you got going, I think you are going to be over run....lol Anyway got the camera out and had a good look at my bearded chicky. Could only find one, so the other must have been hiding or I was seeing double....lol, probably the case. This is Princess, she is about 10 weeks old and will more than likely be up for sale shortly This is Bianca, she is about 1 year old and will be up for sale shortly This is Julianne, about 1 year old, fantastic mum

Sorry that your granddaughter isnt feeling too well. I had bad ear problems as a child myself and its horrible. fluffy, your bearded girls are absolutely beautiful Princess is gorgeous, please let me know when you decide to sell her How many eggs,.. well I havent done the final count yet. It looks like nothing else is going to hatch now so I better clean the bator ready for next week hehe. I think theres about 12-15 chicks and 6 keets, will hafta do a head count . Didnt end up hatching as many as I was hoping, there was obviously a few dead in shell but nevermind. As I said in another post next weeks bator setting Im going all out lol, 12 BL wyandotte 24 blue/splash etc silkies and fill up the gaps with my own silkie eggs. And that will be the LAST bator setting for the season lol
