We have taken the last duckling out of the incubator and have dribbled some water into its mouth, which it seems to take. We have read to give them some sugar water to help them. The duckling is resting all the time, moving a bit. Lasted longer than we thought so maybe there is hope for the little thing. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated

Real fighters they are. The 5th duckling is still holding its own. Looking stronger for having been nursed to eat and drink today. We even have POOP. Black and tar looking, just like a newborn. Just checked it and it is starting to wobble around on its feet and hold its head up. I was going to take a photo, but sorry, the camera went flat. Great timing camera. So you will all just have to wait a bit longer...lol

They went for their first swim in a paint tray today. Talk about comical. Put the first one in, it jumped out like I had thrown it to the wolves, seconds later it is in and all the rest follow. They go to the deep end and the excitement scared them all out of the water a couple of times. After that they stayed in for quite a while. It was lovely and warm out on the back lawn so left them to it. They went for a couple of swims. Then the 5th duckling got stung by a bee. Poor thing was very unhappy. The sting was under its bill. Carried on for several minutes while Nurse Shelle cuddled it in her dressing gown. Aparently it loves it. Then was fine.
