well we got home everything was well in the garden I did close down the veggie patch before I left for Perth but the Roses the little bolt cutter`s took advantage of us being away and took over the place. I did how ever make up for lost time today I have to keep some sort of order on the place or we would have nothing left at all thank goodness they cant get into the chooks [ not from a lack of trying though ] at last I have three guys looking at this place it will be sad to leave it but we have to move on I think its time I took it easy still not got over the hay carting yet ?

Trev,
Have you decided where you will relocate to?

Hi Chooky yes we will and have bought a place in Kellerberrin in the wheat-belt, its rented out we will travel for a while. My son has just gone back yo Broome to live again so we will spend a couple of months with him chasing Barra and the like, then we will have to renovate the one we bought a few years ago it needs a face lift one of the two will be a base so we can go off when we like, its about time, one has Half an acre the other only a 1/4 acre, looks like the half acre will win I still need to breed a few chooks. I am only half way through with the Walsummers and have a lot of work to do with them that will keep me from going mad in a town

Trev,
You are slowly inching towards Perth!!!
Will you be in the middle of town? I know that roosters are not allowed in York town even though the railway line cuts right through town. I am sure the railway is noisier than any rooster. Hopefully you can keep a few roosters for your breeding program.

Hi Chooky yes roosters are allowed everyone seems to have birds sheep horses pigs its a largest farming town so all seems well after having just spent over a month in Perth we know one thing we will never live in that City at all they cant drive there rude i can see why travelers dont want to stay long I was surprised at this

That's good. It makes sense that farm animals are allowed in a farming town. York unfortunately is going the wrong way, in my opinion.

I agree that some councils are not representing the interests of the local residents. There is huge issue now in York. SITA is wanting to develop a huge rubbish dump 18 kms outside of York town. The locals are overwhelmingly opposed to this but the council seems to want more convincing. I don't know what else can be done. The number of signs around, the petitions, etc opposing this project is so obvious this is not what the people want.
This is the most crazy thing, turning good agriculture land into a rubbish dump.

the truth is about shire counsels is that there illegal not being part of the constitution makes this so that's why the feds want them to be recognised at the moment they get away with murder and only a few complain you should not be paying rates they do not have the legality to charge you should get shot of the lot of them I say they only make less work for the state government end of story

Trev,
I think this has been tested in court. As a result the local government, councils, have been added to the list of authorities that are allowed to collect revenue, to avoid future court challenges.
