HI guys just to let you know my chooks knocked off all but 1 of my last hatch of bantams in a unsupervised moment it was soo awful and now i never let them anywhere near any babies and as a result the hen is really aggressive when it comes to her babies now and attacks anything that moves near them including me ..i wish i had a silkie

Thanks for that Beck, I was thinking of extending my chick proof fence and you have just given me the incentive to do it. So sorry to hear of you loss it is heartbreaking

We have a small pen in our garden under a gum tree where I have a broody sitting on 5 eggs due to hatch this weekend, I then allow her to dig in the garden away from any other chooks. Doesnt do any damage and she teaches the chicks.
