for the first time in a long while, I have every nesting box I have full with Broody hens,and in some cases they are doubled up all with eggs under them what a year this is going to be and again the only ones that are not broody are the Wellsumers and the Araucanas never have I had one go broody on me one day I will get a shock Trev

Ha, ha Trev you are going to be flat out being nurse maid. Life is fun when the chicks come. I always think it is a great idea, but when I have to get up earlier for some time to do the chick chores before work can put a damper on it for me. But I have 11 babies (4weeks old) and 11 more in 2 weeks. OMG what was I thinking!!!!! The broody is my lavender araucana she is a great mum and my welsummers go broody too, luckily not my barnevelders. There has to be a rest for me somewhere!!. Enjoy. Cheers Linda

I have 50 odd eggs under the birds at the moment and 10 broody hens so 5 each Just see all the little things scurrying around all over the pen that will be fun then today a mate cam in and asked if I have a broody he could but 14 Black leghorn eggs under now there is one breed I do not like they are fast and easy to spook so now theirs nearly 70 eggs in all WOW this is going to be fun is there enough time in a day good luck with your lot Linda My First Wellsummer ahs just gone broody but my araucanas never have it is strange how they do for some and not others Trev

Thanks guys I have gathered up all the other eggs except for one well known mother and a hen that is sat on the Black Leghorns "Road runners" she is that aggressive I need armour plating to get close to her she should be fine should not say that I need my Silky to go broody again Trev
