Hi guys just an update i bought a bag of red hen premium laying mix looked interesting its full of all sorts of grains seeds mash and pellets but a warning it has sunflower seeds in it as well as some others and in 2 days my chooks have emptied 20kg of feed out of their hopper all over the ground and egg production has dropped by 2/3rds due to them eating only what they like. It would be ok as a scratch mix but i would advise against useing it as normal feed mine are back on cunderdin super mix again and all is fine. its $26 for a bag of red hen hope this saves alot of drama for someone ?

i have heard its a good feed, but its tricky if you have a hopper that your birds can empty like that. it is too soon after 2 days to comment on whether their egg laying was affected. however i do like the cunderdin super poultry mix the best lol

They kick out all the feed to get to the tasty sunflower seeds. You go through a lot more food.
