Congrats Trev, I wouldn't go putting my hand near her, she looks mean!! We're up to 5 now out of 7 and I think the 6th should have hatched in the last hour or so. Merry Christmas ;D ;D

HI Shea the hen was just fine she was verry hot we had a 43+ day when I took the photos I took water and feed to her and she let me pick up the chicks she is just a great hen I did however loose on chick to a rat or something I cant find it or any remains of it in the pen at all Trev

Hi Trev What alovely Christmas present. I have just sold my lovely speckled sussex, she raised 10 chicks a little will ago. They are great mums. Cheers linda

Naww! They are fantastic Mums - all 3 of mine hatched a lot and one was going back for another go when I sold them I miss em Hope the new owner is getting heaps of enjoyment out of them. Yours looks like a great Mum too Trev! Hope her and the chicks don't get too hot!

Hi All I have plenty of water near to them and I wet the whole run down each day for them that tends to cool the place down for all the birds she is taking them for short walks already and the roo came for a look and she chased him off that was great to see but she has lost one I would think to a rat it was only one day old when it went missing and I found no sign of it at all the other two are fine Trev
