Hi all!! yes it finally happen for me! i have my first ever chicks. its was my pekins and they were incubated by a friend. they started hatching late 12.9 and i went to see them yesterday (13th) and had 9 hatched, one pipping and a couple chirping in the egg. im the happest girl in the world, the pekin eggs first try and we got hatching im so proud of them. the chicks have the cutest little fluffy feet. i have some silver looking ones and some look like they will be white (but with the roo being splash they might go that way) a couple are of ginger with fain racing stripes (i think they are out of my partridge hen) so here a couple of pictures i took of the yesterday, they are a bit blurry. the first picture has two chicks that are not mine, the big two . the little silver one at the back with its head sticking up is soooo cute. well they all are. i would love to thank everyone on WAP for all the support and knowledge you have given me, and these little babies are hopefully the first of many more i can share with you all. im so d**n happy

thank you everyone!! they are home in the brooder doing wonderful, i never stop checking them and fussing over them, they are sweet as, i got a total of 10 two died after hatching, so i have 9, great for the pekins first time, i think. they are a toltal range of colours, one is like elayne (one of the mums partridge, golden red) partridge, another has the partridge head markings but dark grey on the back, its wings look partridge marked but black, not red or brown. two silver looking chicks (elayne has blue on her and so does lanfear a bit) they look as if the might have some other colours coming threw their wings, one chick at least, 3 look to be splashed, and two look white, one of the two looks really white no black coming in the wings at all. that suprises me as none of the parents are white.
also elayne went clucky a week and a half ago and has sat tight so i put 7 eggs under her yesterday , all the eggs are the other pekin hen lanfear's, so hopefully i get some more.

just an update the chickies are growing great guns!! and wow on colours, they are changing all the time, i got some pictures not as good as they could be, and not really showing their colour properly. these pics where taken quite a few days ago, so they have grown more. here are four of them, i changed my red globe to a white one yesterday, and omg do they look different, but they are in my spare room so the lighting is shocking. this one has partridge markings on the wing but in a sort of black and white. this one is the one that LOVES me and wiggles its butt on my hand, this one has peach colour coming in with a sight partridge patern (i thought it was a splash, those red globes trick ya), a couple of chicks are coming out this peachy colour one looks all peach. this one is the tinny silver one i love, it has one black feather coming threw on its left hand wing. and this is the all white one, still no colour coming threw on this one. so the others are a mixture of these colours, ill take more pictures soon, im starting to get better at taking pictures of the chicks. also the 7 eggs i put under my broody pekin are fertile, i candled them at 4days and couldnt see much (my candling skills are bad), but i candled them again last night (9days) and there they were, it was so cool to see them moving around inside the egg. their hatch date is 8-10-10.
